About and Contact

Dani Levine is an artist and educator living in Astoria, NY. Combining an alchemical practice of mixing pigments and binders with other found materials, Dani’s work celebrates imaginative thinking through investigations of craft and abstraction. Through her work, she investigates topics of chance, agency, and willfulness. Dani is an adjunct professor at Pratt Institute and Swarthmore College and regularly lectures at schools such as Tyler School of Art, Princeton, and Boston University. Her ongoing work as an educator aims to expand conversations about color as material and to link material history to narratives of trade, innovation, and sociocultural ideas. Her work has been featured in exhibitions at Sikkema Jenkins & Co. (New York, NY), SOLOWAY (Brooklyn, NY), The Alfred Museum (Alfred, NY), The Abrons Arts Center (New York, NY), Field Projects Gallery (New York, NY) and Fjord Gallery (Philadelphia, PA), amongst others. She was a recent artist-in-resident at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from Yale University.
